What matters if not the name?
Shakespeare put it very rightfully – What’s in a name? Well, Sir Shakespeare, coming up with a brand name is a mammoth task, and the whole process is challenging.
Year passes, things change what remains the same is the brand name (if it’s the right one).
At G Caffe creative agency, we constantly strive to improve in order to help businesses in making a name for themselves since ‘name’ is the starting point of a brand’s journey.
In Jeevika’s case, this Government of Bihar initiative was looking to name a new venture besides a tagline and logo.
Once we realized that the organization’s goal was to empower rural women in Bihar on both social and economic level, the name Kevika was suggested.
Kevika means flower in English and is also a fitting name for a girl, so the brand name Kevika seemed to be the right choice to represent and celebrate a hard-working woman.
We then settled on ‘Hum se hai Bihar’ as Kevika’s slogan. The idea behind this tagline was to show that women are creators.
All that was left was the logo, designing which was a bumpy road. But the result was a treat to the eye.
‘Bindi’, which symbolizes femininity and beauty, was adopted as the main element of the logo. Important patterns in Madhubani paintings were used to represent the state of Bihar and its elaboration.
“There were many creative hurdles in deciding on the name and designing the logo for Jeevika, but the end result pleased everyone and has been a truly uplifting journey for G Caffe,” said Creative Operations Manager Johny Ghosh.
